It’s mid-November and you are either firmly in a playoff race or you’ve been eliminated and you’ve now taken to complaining about your leagues rules. For those in the first group this article is for you and we are going to take a bit of a departure from our normal waiver wire piece. It is likely that your championship game is slated for week 13/14 where there are many teams that have a bye. With these likely holes in your starting lineup in mind we are taking a look at players (and their opponents) that could possibly be available both this week and next. Because of the length of these lists, we are forgoing the normal hard-hitting, in-depth breakdowns and instead giving a little snippet as a glance into our thought process. We assume if you are reading this you have some holes and are in desperate need of some help. Guys like Dajuane Collins and Vondrell McGee are backups and we are not making bold proclamations that they are taking over as starters. Rather we realize that despite their second-string status they are still getting touches and scores. On the other side guys like Jabari Arthur and Darius Reynaud are probably on rosters, but in a never-ending quest to be annoyingly thorough, we’ve thrown them in for good measure. Week 12 QB Tyler Graunke, Hawaii vs Nevada - Insurance in case Colt Brennan can't go. QB Martin Hankins Memphis, vs UAB – Hankins is one of top QB pick-ups for the play-offs. QB Ben Mauk, Cincinnati vs West Virginia – Three TDs in each of the last two games. QB Isiah Williams, Illinois - Four touchdowns last week and Northwestern up next. QB Giovanni Vizza, North Texas vs Western Kentucky – Don’t expect 8 TDs like last week, but he has three nice match-ups. QB Justin Willis, SMU vs Central Florida – Decent stretch run quarterback. QB Corey Leonard, Arkansas State vs North Texas – I’m not going to pretend to know anything about Arkansas State. I will say their numbers and match-ups look good. QB Case Keenum, Houston vs Marshall – High risk, high reward pick. He is taking the bulk of the snaps at quarterback QB Blake Szymanski, Baylor vs Oklahoma State – Threw well against Oklahoma QB Matthew Stafford, Georgia vs Kentucky – Not a lot of huge upside, but has been consistent of late. Again, part of the excitement over college fantasy football is the obscene amount of flexibility afforded. Some leagues play both week 13 and 14 as a title week with the owner picking a game if a player is in both, others play them as two separate weeks entirely while others will crown their champion this Saturday night. Even if your league crowns a king this weekend, it’s still possible to have a mini-draft of some sorts via email and keep playing for the remainder of November. This will provide a nice transition to bowl season. Bowl season will see another version of our start or sit piece in addition to a plethora of other hard-hitting college fantasy football analysis. It may be nearing turkey-time, but opportunities abound for a great deal more college fantasy football fun.
