Conference-only players, this list is for you. And there may just be a breakout player nationally amongst this group of quarterbacks.

However the majority of this list is comprised of steady signal callers for offenses that lead to the conservative side, and youngsters vying for the starting job.

#61 Zach Frazer , QB , Sr , Connecticut

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 91 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 7

Frazer should make great strides under center in 2010, and it's not unreasonable to expect him to push towards 20 scores. The Huskies are more than just a solid team, and a good season from their quarterback will make them a very good one. He's only an option in Big East leagues, but you may be surprised where he ends the season among league passers.

2009 Stats: 116/218 Pass 1461 PaYd 10 PaTD 9 PaINT (-28) RuYd 0 RuTD 1 Fumb Pts: 97.64

2010 Projs: 189/330 Pass 2576 PaYd 22 PaTD 10 PaINT (-14) RuYd 1 RuTD Pts: 219.64

#62 Skylar Jones , QB , Jr , Wake Forest

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 53 OL Ret: 2 Off Ret: 6

Skylar Jones is an intriguing athlete who, while he doesn't appear to be a fantasy factor on a regular basis, will explode on occasion. Unlike the others battling for the QB job (Brendan Cross & Ted Stachitas) Jones was fortunate enough to stay healthy this spring, thus this converted wide receiver has first dibs to replace Riley Skinner.

#63 Jake Heaps , QB , Fr , Brigham Young

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 25 OL Ret: 3 Off Ret: 7

Heaps, the top young gunslinger in the 2010 class, was on campus early and gave no reason to believe he won't be ready this fall. There is some talent to fend off, but the belief here is that the Jake Heaps era will begin very soon. He's a top national keeper prospect.

#64 Sean Renfree , QB , So , Duke Injured Player

Home Games: 7 EOS Off: 119 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 8

Replacing Thaddeus Lewis will not be easy, but it'll sure help Sean Renfree that he's stepping into a starting role surrounded by nine returning starters. He missed spring drills recovering from a knee injury, but he'll be good to go this fall. Lewis flourished under coach David Cutcliffe's tutelage, and we see Renfree as a more-than-capable replacement. He'll be a factor in ACC leagues.

#65 Taylor McHargue , QB , r-Fr , Rice

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 15 OL Ret: 5 Off Ret: 9

We're going out on a limb and predicting that McHargue outlasts Nick Fanuzzi and Miami transfer Taylor Cook and emerges as the Rice starting quarterback. The redshirt freshman has impressed many at Rice, and he combines a nice pass-run combination.

#66 Geno Smith , QB , So , West Virginia Injured Player

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 39 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 6

Geno Smith is going to do some very good things while in Morgantown, but he's likely a year away from serving as a fantasy factor. He showed strides in 2009, completing 29-of-32 passes for 308 yards and a score, but this year he'll have to step in and replace Jarrett Brown, who stepped in and replaced Pat White. Smith just has to stay healthy (broken foot this spring doesn't help) and WVU should have a healthy offense.

2009 Stats: 32/49 Pass 308 PaYd 1 PaTD 1 PaINT 1 RuYd 0 RuTD Pts: 16.42

2010 Projs: 162/264 Pass 1918 PaYd 16 PaTD 10 PaINT 353 RuYd 5 RuTD Pts: 218.02

#67 Ryan Katz , QB , So , Oregon State

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 115 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 8

Expected starter for a program that will look to hand it to Jacquizz Rodgers on every possible occasion. Katz seemed to struggle this spring, but there is a lot of optimism surrounding the strong-armed quarterback. He does have James Rodgers to throw to, and the Beavers did throw for over 3000 yards in 2009. Maybe we are short changing Katz a tad.

2009 Stats: 14/27 Pass 227 PaYd 1 PaTD 0 PaINT 2 RuYd 0 RuTD Pts: 15.28

2010 Projs: 236/399 Pass 2676 PaYd 20 PaTD 10 PaINT (-12) RuYd 2 RuTD Pts: 217.84

#68 Austin Dantin , QB , So , Toledo

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 81 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 6

We expect Dantin to outlast Alex Pettee and take control of the Toledo offense in 2010, however this race will likely not be decided until late August. Dantin did a decent job filling in for Aaron Opelt when the veteran missed time, so he'll have a leg up. The Rockets return four starters on the offensive line, but they lose passing game coordinator Scott Satterfield, who took the OC job at Florida International. But this will still be an offense that's willing to wing it quite a bit, and Dantin will face a schedule that should allow for some big outings.

2009 Stats: 78/118 Pass 957 PaYd 4 PaTD 4 PaINT 51 RuYd 0 RuTD 1 Fumb Pts: 59.38

2010 Projs: 221/385 Pass 2523 PaYd 20 PaTD 12 PaINT 81 RuYd 2 RuTD Pts: 217.02

#69 Kale Pick , QB , So , Kansas

Home Games: 7 EOS Off: 40 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 6

Kale Pick is the most athletic of the three quarterbacks vying for the Jayhawk starting job. He also served as Todd Ressing's backup last season, making him the early favorite to win the starting job. But with new coach Turner Gill in town, there will be no favorites, making this a wide open race.

2009 Stats: 4/5 Pass 22 PaYd 0 PaTD 0 PaINT 167 RuYd 0 RuTD Pts: 17.58

2010 Projs: 201/348 Pass 2388 PaYd 17 PaTD 10 PaINT 210 RuYd 3 RuTD Pts: 216.52

#70 Kevin Prince , QB , So , UCLA

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 100 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 7

Prince struggled with consistency and injuries a season ago, and for all the talk coming out of Westwood, this offense has been lousy, ranking 88th nationally a season ago. Prince was voted an offensive captain, so clearly his teammates think highly of the redshirt sophomore. However this doesn't mean fantasy owners should do the same. 20 touchdowns appear his ceiling.

2009 Stats: 173/308 Pass 2050 PaYd 8 PaTD 8 PaINT 179 RuYd 1 RuTD 3 PaConv 5 Fumb Pts: 143.90

#71 Kevin Riley , QB , Sr , California

Home Games: 7 EOS Off: 75 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 7

Having held off some would-be challengers, Kevin Riley will again lead the offense, and he's poised for a very nice senior season. He's thrown 32 touchdowns against 14 picks over the past two seasons, and it's reasonable to think that 24 touchdown passes are within reach this year, making Riley one of the conference's top, if overlooked, quarterbacks.

2009 Stats: 209/382 Pass 2850 PaYd 18 PaTD 8 PaINT 51 RuYd 1 RuTD 2 Fumb Pts: 217.10

2010 Projs: 202/355 Pass 2706 PaYd 19 PaTD 9 PaINT 56 RuYd 1 RuTD Pts: 215.84

#72 Kolton Browning , QB , r-Fr , La-Monroe Sleeper Pick

Home Games: 5 EOS Off: 4 OL Ret: 3 Off Ret: 6

Redshirt freshman won the starting job this spring, and while he may be a nice option down the road, we're not expecting too much in 2010. This team loses a whole lot at wide receiver, and Kolton Browning will experience some growing pains.

2009 Stats: 0/0 Pass 0 PaYd 0 PaTD 0 PaINT 0 RuYd 0 RuTD Pts: 0.00

2010 Projs: 199/350 Pass 2532 PaYd 20 PaTD 12 PaINT 44 RuYd 2 RuTD Pts: 213.68

#73 Ryan Aplin , QB , So , Arkansas St

Home Games: 5 EOS Off: 3 OL Ret: 5 Off Ret: 7

Aplin, who saw 118 pass attempts a season ago, had off-season shoulder surgery. And there's no certainty that he'll enter the season as the starting quarterback, as Phillip Butterfield had a very nice spring.

2009 Stats: 77/118 Pass 889 PaYd 3 PaTD 6 PaINT 253 RuYd 4 RuTD 1 RuConv Pts: 92.86

#74 Greg McElroy , QB , Sr , Alabama

Home Games: 7 EOS Off: 106 OL Ret: 3 Off Ret: 8

McElroy is an excellent game manager who does exactly what Nick Saban needs him to do. However his absolute ceiling is capped around 22 total scores; he may win another real title, but he won't lead you to a fake one.

2009 Stats: 198/325 Pass 2508 PaYd 17 PaTD 4 PaINT 83 RuYd 1 RuTD 1 ReConv 2 Fumb Pts: 210.62

#75 Matt Simms , QB , Jr , Tennessee

Home Games: 7 EOS Off: 92 OL Ret: 1 Off Ret: 5

Youngster arrives in Knoxville after stops at Louisville and junior college. He holds a slight lead over young Tyler Bray due to his ability to scramble. Simms certainly has the talent and bloodlines to emerge as the Vol starting quarterback.

2009 Stats: 0/0 Pass 0 PaYd 0 PaTD 0 PaINT 0 RuYd 0 RuTD Pts: 0.00

2010 Projs: 162/279 Pass 1914 PaYd 18 PaTD 9 PaINT 262 RuYd 3 RuTD Pts: 210.76

#76 Alex Carder , QB , So , Western Mich

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 36 OL Ret: 2 Off Ret: 6

The fine folks in Kalamazoo expect Carder to step in and replace Tim Hiller, and while these are some big shoes, the Broncos return a bunch of receptions and doesn't face the toughest of schedules. Carder came to WMU with some nice credentials out of Kansas, he brings good size, and saw some action a season ago. He's one to watch.

2009 Stats: 5/7 Pass 27 PaYd 0 PaTD 0 PaINT 16 RuYd 0 RuTD 1 Fumb Pts: 2.68

#77 Jordan Jefferson , QB , Jr , LSU

Home Games: 7 EOS Off: 117 OL Ret: 3 Off Ret: 5

Jefferson's moments weren't as frequent as he and LSU fans would've liked in 2009, and while he'll enter fall camp as the #1 guy, he'll have to fend off Jarrett Lee.

2009 Stats: 182/296 Pass 2166 PaYd 17 PaTD 7 PaINT 171 RuYd 1 RuTD 1 PaConv 1 Fumb Pts: 199.74

#78 Chris Masson , QB , Jr , La-Lafayette

Home Games: 5 EOS Off: 12 OL Ret: 2 Off Ret: 7

While Chris Masson may not have the greatest wheels, he does have a nose for the end zone, scoring six times on the ground in 2010. He's another quarterback whose touchdown potential appears capped at around 20 scores.

2009 Stats: 222/373 Pass 2406 PaYd 10 PaTD 8 PaINT 192 RuYd 6 RuTD 2 Fumb Pts: 195.44

#79 Morgan Newton , QB , So , Kentucky

Home Games: 7 EOS Off: 97 OL Ret: 1 Off Ret: 5

Newton did a nice job stepping in for the injured Mike Hartline last season. His future appears bright, though we expect Hartline to regain his starting job this fall.

2009 Stats: 75/135 Pass 706 PaYd 6 PaTD 3 PaINT 130 RuYd 2 RuTD 1 Recs 41 ReYd 1 Fumb Pts: 87.34

#80 Tom Savage , QB , So , Rutgers

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 76 OL Ret: 2 Off Ret: 6

A few young signal callers out west may garner most of the attention, but Tom Savage is certainly one of the nation's top young passers. He was especially impressive in Week Nine at UConn when he went 13-24 for 236 yards and three scores. His freshman campaign concluded with 15 total touchdowns against only seven interceptions. He's not a national draft day factor just yet, but those in Big East leagues, especially the keeper kind, will want to nab Mr. Savage early.

#81 Willy Korn , QB , Jr , Marshall

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 24 OL Ret: 3 Off Ret: 6

The Clemson transfer will battle with Brian Anderson for the starting quarterback job at Marshall, and we expect him to emerge with the job. Korn is still the talented quarterback whom Rivals.com deemed a top-ten dual-threat signal caller. Though we have to wonder if Korn wishes Kyle Parker had told him how likely he was to head to baseball full-time rather than remain the starter at Clemson...

2009 Stats: 12/17 Pass 90 PaYd 1 PaTD 1 PaINT 12 RuYd 1 RuTD 1 Fumb Pts: 14.80

#82 Matt Schilz , QB , r-Fr , Bowling Green

Home Games: 5 EOS Off: 43 OL Ret: 2 Off Ret: 4

Redshirt freshman out of California is one to watch. In fact we think he'll emerge as the Bowling Green starting quarterback this season. This 6-2 gunslinger was a well-regarded prepster, and with a year to prepare we think he'll push towards 20 scores in the MAC.

2009 Stats: 0/0 Pass 0 PaYd 0 PaTD 0 PaINT 0 RuYd 0 RuTD Pts: 0.00

#83 Kyle Parker , QB , So , Clemson

Home Games: 7 EOS Off: 72 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 6

Parker was impressive last season, throwing for 2385 yards and accounting for 21 scores. In fact he was so impressive that one-time highly-touted recruit Willy Korn decided to pack his bags. As everyone knows, Parker is one heck of a baseball player and his return hinges on whether or not he signs with the Colorado Rockies.

2009 Stats: 205/369 Pass 2385 PaYd 20 PaTD 12 PaINT 129 RuYd 1 RuTD 1 PaConv 3 Fumb Pts: 212.30

#84 Alex Gillett , QB , So , Eastern Michigan

Home Games: 5 EOS Off: 113 OL Ret: 3 Off Ret: 7

With the transfer of Kyle McMahon and graduation of Andy Schmitt, Gillett will be the man in Ypsilanti. With all due respect to Alex, there are not many positive things we can say from a fantasy perspective.

2009 Stats: 68/137 Pass 773 PaYd 3 PaTD 7 PaINT 487 RuYd 2 RuTD 5 Fumb Pts: 95.62

#85 Matt Pelesasa , QB , Jr , Western Kentucky

Home Games: 5 EOS Off: 10 OL Ret: 5 Off Ret: 10

Pelesasa has traveled from the College of San Mateo, and now he'll battle with Kawuan Jakes at Western Kentucky.

#86 Tyler Hansen , QB , Jr , Colorado

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 57 OL Ret: 5 Off Ret: 8

Hansen has proven to be a better quarterback than Cody Hawkins...but not by much. In no game did he throw for more than 271 yards in 2009, and his lone touchdown explosion saw three touchdown passes against Nebraska. Move along drafters, move along.

2009 Stats: 129/230 Pass 1438 PaYd 8 PaTD 7 PaINT 61 RuYd 1 RuTD 1 PaConv 5 Fumb Pts: 105.62

#87 Kelly Page , QB , So , Ball State

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 62 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 10

Page was put into a tough spot as a redshirt freshman in 2009. He was asked to replace Nate Davis and lead an offense that had set a whole bunch of records during the previous seasons. And all things considered, he did a decent job before his campaign was ended with a broken thumb in Week Seven. The Texas native will improve, though he's still a year away from a real breakout.

2009 Stats: 109/207 Pass 1019 PaYd 7 PaTD 9 PaINT 128 RuYd 2 RuTD 1 Recs -2 ReYd 2 Fumb Pts: 89.36

#88 Ryan Nassib , QB , So , Syracuse

Home Games: 5 EOS Off: 95 OL Ret: 1 Off Ret: 2

Ryan Nassib will have a decent year, and considering the ways things have been going in Syracuse of late, decent is pretty good. Nassib is a sturdy 6-3 and 223 lbs. and while he will not post any huge games, he should fare pretty well against the likes of Akron, Maine and Colgate.

#89 Nathan Tune , QB , Sr , North Texas

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 7 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 9

We expect Tune to hold off Derek Thompson and assume control of the Mean Green offense. Tune is the steady force while Thompson brings a little more risk. A few years ago we had much greater enthusiasm about what this passing offense could become; our excitement has wanted considerably.

#90 Spencer Keith , QB , So , Kent State

Home Games: 6 EOS Off: 66 OL Ret: 4 Off Ret: 8

Spencer Keith was in the middle of a pretty impressive freshman season before a shoulder injury shelved him towards the end of the campaign. 2,147 yards and 14 touchdowns weren't too shabby, though we're expecting comparable numbers in 2010.
