Start Em! Running Backs

BCS-Only

John Clay, Wisconsin vs. San Jose State

San Jose State doesn't have enough time to heal up from Bama before heading to Wisconsin. Our #1 back this week will hurt people on Saturday. Hopefully SJSU will use some money from these two paydays to buy some new hot tubs for the boys.

Mikel LeShoure, Illinois vs. So. Illinois

Yes, the Zookers lost to Mizzou...again. But LeShoure gave further proof that he's the man in Champaign this season.

Darren Evans, Virginia Tech vs. James Madison

Am I out of my mind? Didn't you see Ryan Williams attack would-be tacklers with such ferocity on Monday night, even in an outing that only saw him post 42 yards? Yes, I did. And this week Williams and Evans will take it out against one of Lefty's old schools.

Andre Ellington, Clemson vs.Presbyterian

So you say that 12-122-2 against North Texas in Week One must be taken with a little grain of salt. After all, it's North Texas. And this week it's Presbyterian. What's your point?

Bonus: Duane Bennett, Minny vs. South Dakota

Play him.

All-120

Ed Wesley, TCU vs. Tennessee Tech

The greatness that was Oregon State vs. TCU was lost amidst more Boise talk. However among many shining stars on Saturday night was Ed Wesley, a bruising yet speedy back that will have a bright future on Sundays. More immediately, he'll roll over Tennessee Tech.

Charles Clay, Tulsa vs. Bowling Green

Last Sunday saw the sun come up, the sun set, and Charles Clay score another touchdown. Dude now has 32 touchdowns in his career, and he'll add a couple more to the total against Bowling Green this week.

Sam McGuffie, Rice at North Texas

When the mad hurdler transferred to Rice he didn't plan on a lot of games against the likes of Texas...he was banking on contests against North Texas. He's #57 in our running back rankings. The computer is wrong.

Zach Line, SMU vs. UAB

Here's to your thin red Line....mmmm, Zach's stepping over! Like McGuffie, Line is another non-BCS'er that our beloved computer is overlooking for Week Two.

Sit Em! Running Backs

BCS Only

Dion Lewis, Pitt vs. New Hampshire

Let it be known that the Start-Sit Lists are solely those of Brian McDonald, and do not necessarily reflect the views of the website.

Why Lewis? I'm looking for a post-Utah hangover against an opponent that is a pretty decent FCS foe. The Panthers may get caught looking forward to a bye leading up to the Hurricanes. Call it a gut feel.

Marc Tyler, USC vs. Virginia

Call this another gut feel. I just don't see Lane Kiffin using a feature back this season; others will get their chances, starting with this week. I do feel Tyler will run well, just not well enough to justify the mad rush to the waiver wire following his Aloha performance a week ago.

LaMichael James, Oregon at Tennessee

Give him another week.

Trent Richardson, Alabama vs. Penn State

The Lions will come to play, and they'll make Bama beat them through the air.

Again, let the record reflect that I don't shy away from putting some big names on the Sit List. Of course this may not mean much if they all prove me wrong...but I still like writing "let the record reflect."

All-120

Seth Smith, NMSU vs. SDST

San Diego State is #1 in the NATION in scoring defense. Look past the fact that they just played Nicholls State. I'm riding em baby!

Dwayne Priest, Eastern Michigan at Miami (Oh)

I like Priest this year, however the Redhawks showed a little bit down in Gainesville last week. They'll handle The Priest.

Donald Buckram, UTEP vs. Houston

Just not feeling Donnie B just yet.
