Waiver Wire Week Four

A baker's dozen of pickups you should consider in both BCS and all-120 leagues:

BCS

Ben Chappell, QB, Indiana - If you're in need of a starter this week, Indiana is taking on Akron before Big Ten play kicks in.  Also look at receiver Damarlo Belcher.

D.J. Woods, WR, Cincinnati - Those that invested in the premium stats aren't shocked to see Woods name on the waiver wire.  He was a red zone favorite in 2009.  Cincinnati looks a little out of sync and have Oklahoma next, but Woods has looked good.

Michael Shaw, RB, Michigan - I think everyone realizes that quarterback Denard Robinson simply can't do it all. They need a running back to step up and take some of the load off.  Shaw scored three times last week.  Though we'd like to see him get more than 12 carries a game.

Edwin Baker, RB, Michigan State - Fantasy owners have been apprehensive to latch onto Baker and running mate Le'Vion Bell, but they continue to produce.  With Northern Colorado up next, they should both find the end zone again.

David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech - We're still waiting for word on Ryan Williams' hamstring, if he can't go, Wilson and Darren Evans will get a shot.

Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse - Five touchdowns last week against Maine and Colgate up this week.  A decent spot starter if you're in a pinch.  Also look at receiver Van Chew.

Cortez Smith, WR, Purdue - With Keith Smith (knee) out for the season, Cortez stepped up for the Boilermakers against Ball State with five catches for 117 yards and two scores.  Toledo is up next.

All-120

Terrance Broadway, QB, Houston - It is hard to imagine the Cougars' passing game being as effective without its top two quarterbacks, but it would be silly to leave Broadway on the waiver wire.  David Piland may also get some looks in practice this week.

Ronnie Hillman, RB, San Diego State - Hillman has been a pleasant surprise rushing for six touchdowns 378 yards in the last two games.  With Utah State up next, he'll add to those numbers.

Paris Cotton, RB, Central Michigan - Dan Enos is an ex-quarterback, but he has plenty of Mark Dantonio in him.  He'll pound the rock as much as possible and Cotton has been the beneficiary through the first three weeks.

A.J. Ellis, RB, Fresno State - Hard to judge on just one performance, but 29 carries should capture any fantasy owner's attention.  Pick him up and see what happens.

Gregory Ray, RB, Memphis - Over a hundred yards and two scores on 25 carries last week against Middle Tennessee State last week.  UTEP is up next, which gave up 300+ yards on the ground to Houston in Week Two.

Ed Wesley, RB, TCU - TCU likes to spread carries around but it is going to be tough not to feed the powerful Wesley.
