Complete Week Five Player Rankings & Projections l More Sit & Starts
Well, I hope you enjoyed it. The first four weeks were full of tasty cupcakes that allowed for a whole bunch of fantasy points across the board. We now, for the most part, enter the rough and tumble conference portion of the 2010 season, and this means yards and scores will be a little harder to come by, making weekly choices more important. And I'm here to help...I think.
Week Four Running Back Starts: Adam Robinson (31), Keith Payne (5),Alexander Robinson (14),Marc Tyler (9),Ronnie Hillman (15),Donald Buckram (7),Asher Clark (8), Orleans Darkwa (3)
Grade: 11.5 start average isn't very good. In fact it won't win you many games. D
Week Four Running Back Sits: Dion Lewis (5), Marcus Lattimore (12),Da'Rel Scott (22),Davin Meggett (14),Bernard Pierce (16),Branden Oliver (3), Willie Geter (6)
Grade: 11.2 sit average isn't horrible, especially including the names on the list. However it's too close to the Start numbers. C-
Start Em! Running Backs
BCS-Only
1. Bilal Powell , Louisville vs. Arkansas State
Powell will break big ones early and often this weekend, and even Victor Anderson may be start-worthy.
2. Dion Lewis , Pitt vs. Florida International
It's time to get Mr. Lewis right. FIU is beaten up after the nation's toughest games (Rutgers, @A&M, @Maryland and now @Pitt) to open the season, and the super soph will explode.
3. Michael Dyer , Auburn vs. Louisiana Monroe
What better way to give Cameron Newton a break than by letting the youngster run wild?
4. Johnathan Franklin , UCLA vs. Washington State
45 carries for 276 yards and four scores over the last two weeks. The Cougars are in trouble.
All-120
1. Vai Taua , Nevada at UNLV
Lost among the Kaepernick love are Vai Taua's 453 yards and five scores on the season.
2. Adonis Thomas , Toledo vs. Wyoming
Thomas is seeing the carries, and he's due to find paydirt. Wyoming can't stop anyone.
3. Jerrell Rhodes , Memphis vs. Tulsa
This redshirt frosh is seeing the carries, but like Jordan he's struggled to find the endzone. Tulsa can help with this endeavor.
4. Kevis Streeter , Louisiana-Lafayette at North Texas
This Ragin' Cajun is our little sleeper this week.
Sit Em! Running Backs
BCS Only
1. Darius Willis , Indiana vs. Michigan
Indiana is going to throw it a whole bunch, and Willis has been relatively quiet since the opener.
2. Le'Veon Bell , Michigan State vs. Wisconsin
The Big Ten's biggest surprise will go against a different defensive animal this weekend.
3. Cameron Marshall , Arizona State at Oregon State
Deantre Lewis , your table is ready.
All-120
1. Jonathan Williams , ECU at North Carolina
The senior has been very consistent thus far, including 17-72-2 last week against the Hokies. The Heels have lost two toughies and then won close won at Rutgers last week. Methinks they're going to make a little spurt.
2. Alvester Alexander , Wyoming at Toledo
Toledo is 17th nationally in rush defense, and except for a pummeling at the hands of Arizona, the Rockets have been impressive.
3. Matt Brown , Temple at Army
Army has been solid against the run to date. I know teammate Bernard Pierce is a game-time decision, but I'm looking at this game as a slopfest. And Brown will struggle to find room.
