BYU joins the ranks of the Independents and Brian Kelly is in his second year has head coach for the Fighting Irish. Big things are expected from these schools in 2011, especially in the passing game.
On the flip side the academy schools must find replacements at critical positions in order to be able to continue to ground and pound. Let's take a look what to watch in fall camp.
Notre Dame: Michael Floyd, WR
He's still not listed on the official roster. With fall camp set to begin on Aug. 3rd for the Irish, all eyes will be on the official roster to see if Floyd has been added. My expectation is he'll be back with the team for the start of camp.
BYU: Receiver Depth Chart
This should be an interesting fall camp for the Cougars, especially at receiver. Starters Cody Hoffman and McKay Jacobson return, but watch out for Ross Apo. Apo redshirted last year due to a broken hand, but he could be the best of the bunch.
Navy: Kriss Proctor, QB
This one is not hard to figure out. Most of the offense returns, except at quarterback where Kriss Proctor looks to take over for Ricky Dobbs. Proctor has proven he is more than capable of running the offense in spot duty the last two seasons. The big thing here is just staying healthy.
Army: The O-Line
The Black Knights only return one starter from last season's offensive line. Not a good stat for a team that lives and dies by the run. Quarterback Trent Steelman and fullback Jared Hassin hope they continue to gel in camp.
