Week One Rankings & Projections

It is that time of year. Time to shift out of preseason mode and start gearing up for the start of the season. While there are still plenty of drafts coming up this weekend, what can we say that we already haven't? Check out our article archiveplayer news or draft kit, for all our ramblings.

For the rest, let's start talking Week One. First off you'll find player projections for every FBS player here. These will be updated as injuries and suspensions warrant. If we missed somebody, let us know at info@cffinsider.com. With nine months of off-season news to digest, a few may have slipped through the cracks.

A couple of quick refreshers on our weekly rankings. We let the computer -- which we meticulously feed with information and review each team each week -- do the talking. In other words, players are ranked based on projected points for that week, just like our preseason rankings.  This takes much of the individual bias and subjectivity out of it.

Of course, each of us will have our own opinions on where guys should be ranked. Especially when players are projected very close to each other.  Don't get caught up in the number in front of your player's name. Look at the projection. Does it make sense? Are the two players you're deciding between similar or is there a wide gap? Is the matchup dictating a high / low projection? Is he hurt, is he at home or has he been on a cold streak? All are factors that go into the projections.

If you disagree with our projection, go with your gut, we're not always right. Our projections are a guide to help you make the most informed decision possible for your starting lineup.

Brian has already started grumbling around the office about the Robert Griffin's sub-par ranking/projection and has made threats of going all Office Space on our poor harmless computer. I invite him to play RG3 against TCU while I go with Brandon Weeden versus Louisiana-Lafayette.

Of course we'll be chock full of opinions throughout the week. Look for our positional Sit and Start pieces in the coming days. In the meantime, here's a sneak peek at the top 5 for each position for week number one...
