National Signing Day (Feb. 1) is just days away, a holy day for college football geeks. With four of the top receivers in the country still left to make an announcement on where they will play ball in 2012, there is still plenty that has yet to be decided. And of course there is always the possibility of a last minute switch like De'Anthony Thomas last year.
We will be taking a deeper dive into some of the impact and keeper league freshmen in the coming days, but here are a few top prospects that have yet make their college choices and should be monitored on NSD.
Marion Grice, RB - JUCO running backs are always an intriguing proposition for fantasy owners. Grice comes from Blinn College, the same JC that brought us Cam Newton. A commitment to Arizona State (logjam of backs), Ole Miss (SEC defenses) wouldn't be nearly as interesting to fantasy owners as Houston or a potential last-minute suitor.
Jamies Winston, QB - One of the top dual-threat QBs in the country, Winston recently reaffirmed his commitment to Florida State. But Seminole fans might not sleep until he is signed sealed and delivered. Especially with coach Nick Saban lurking.
Devin Fuller, QB - This one becomes intriguing for keeper league owners if Rich Rodriguez can pull the athletic New Jersey quarterback to Tucson. Update: Verbally committed to UCLA.
Dorial Green-Beckham, WR - The consensus top receiving prospect in the country by Rivals.com, Scout.com and ESPN, Dorial Green-Beckham is widely considered a heavy Arkansas lean. The Razorbacks have positioned themselves as SEC contenders and landing a guy like Green-Beckham will pull them closer to Alabama and LSU.
Stefon Diggs, WR - Diggs visited Urban Meyer and Ohio State this weekend, but this one is believed to Florida's to lose.
Nelson Agholor, WR - Another top receiving prospect that has a Gator feel.
Thomas Johnson, WR - The longtime Texas commit recently opened things up and the top two now appear to be Oregon and Cal. But don't count out home state schools TCU and Texas A&M.
Monty Madaris, WR - As a Michigan State alum that has followed his recruitment all I can say is this has been a strange one. If he wants to play close to home, this could be a big boost to an already-overflowing Cincinnati recruiting class. Update: Verbally committed to Michigan State.
Cordarrelle Patterson, WR - Another top JUCO product that could provide an immediate impact for the school of his choice. The 6-4 prospect is considering Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU and Ole Miss
