Kansas has fired head coach Turner Gill after just two seasons. "After a thorough evaluation of our football program," Athletic Director Sheahon Zenger said in a statement, "I have concluded that new leadership is necessary to place us on the path toward competing for championships in the Big 12 Conference."

Some potential candidates to fill the job include:  Southern Miss HC Larry Fedora, Wyoming HC Dave Christensen, Cincinatti HC Butch Jones, Houston HC Kevin Sumlin, South Florida HC Skip Holtz,  and of course Mike Leach
