Purdue likely to ride quarterback carousel

July 12, 2011

Last year Miami-transfer Robert Marve started the season as Purdue's starting quarterback but was soon lost for the season with a torn ACL. In stepped the athletic Rob Henry who was much more of a runner than Marve. This season offensive coordinator Gary Nord will use the arm of Marve and the legs of Henry as he likely rotates both in and out of the game.  "I think Rob Henry is going to be our starting quarterback. We will see how Robert Marve's knee progresses. We are not going to let someone like Robert Marve or Caleb TerBush sit on the sideline and not allow them to help this team out" says Nord.

Fantasy Impact:

You never want to hear "quarterback rotation" from a fantasy perspective but neither Marve nor Henry have much value at this point.  From a fan perspective, I don't want a rotation as it has rarely (I know Tim Tebow made it work with Chris Leak) worked and can stunt the development and rhythm of both passers.
