North Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner had a bone spur removed from his ankle the day after the 'Heels loss to Missouri in the in the Independence Bowl.  His status will be updated at the beginning of spring practice.

Renner threw for a UNC single-season high 26 TDs in his first year as a starter, so you wouldn't think his job is in any jeopardy.  That being said, with new head coach Larry Fedora's spread offense coming to Chapel Hill, if Renner were to sit out the spring, and dual talent Marquise Williams (who redshirted) were to shine, maybe we have a budding story.
