Western Michigan quarterback Alex Carder (shoulder) will return to action in the Little Ceasers Bowl against Purdue.

Carder was a late scratch against lowly Akron, opening the door for Tyler Van Tubbergen to throw for six scores. Coach Bill Cubit said he doesn't know if Tyler will get a chance to play in the bowl game.
