Michigan running back Vincent Smith (torn ACL) is expected to be back for fall practice according to coach Rich Rodriguez.
That seems pretty optimistic timing considering it will be a less than nine months since he tore his ACL against Ohio State in the final game of the season. Smith looked like the most likely candidate to assume the starting role this season before the injury.
