"I've never been a backup guy," Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd said. "It was really tough last season. I've played football since I was seven, and I never really sat around and watched." Boyd will get his chance to run with the first team at times this spring with incumbent Kyle Parker splitting time between football and baseball this spring.
Boyd was one of the most impressive quarterback recruits last year, but there was no shortage of quarterbacks when he arrived last May. Boyd could see the field quicker than expected if Parker's baseball career takes off.
