While Notre Dame has been staunchly against giving up their independence in football, athletic director Jack Swarbrick says Big Ten expansion could create changes in major college football that force them to review this stance.
This would be a major shift in philosophy for the Irish, who have been able to garner huge television deals on their own. The two obvious choices for Notre Dame would be the Big Ten where they have geographic and rivalry ties, or the Big East, where they currently play hoops.
