Rutgers coach Greg Schiano told ESPN.com that he expects the running back battle between Joe Martinek, De'Antwan Williams and the incoming freshies will be "wide open."
Reading between the lines of Brian Bennett's piece, it sure sounds like Schiano is clamoring for someone to take the job from the "tough, consistent" Martinek. Williams missing spring while recovering from an undisclosed injury doesn't help matters.
