Cal coach Jeff Tedford said Kevin Riley, Beau Sweeney and Brock Mansion will all battle for the starting quarterback job, but based on his experience it is Riley that "has a substantial leg up" in the competition.
The Pac-10 is full of promising young quarterbacks, though Berkeley is one place where we expect experience to win out. Riley should provide a solid starting option in Pac-10 leagues.
