BYU freshman quarterback Jake Heaps went 4-of-8 for 25 yards in his first official practice. Riley Nelson, expected to be Heaps' prime competition for the starting job, went 5-of-7 for 33 yards.
And so the Jake Heaps era officially kicks off. This battle could linger into fall camp, but there's a feeling Mr. Heaps will be a much-talked-about quarterback for as long as he's a Cougar.
