Believe or not, the Vanderbilt offense actually looked really good against Northwestern, with Larry Smith leading the charge on 19-of-33 passing for 240 yards and a touchdown. The ground game featured a healthy Zac Stacy carrying the ball nine times for 69 yards and a touchdown, Warren Norman carrying 10 times for 46 yards and a score, and Smith rushing for 48 yards.
Whatever coach Caldwell is doing, he should keep it up. If the offense can maintain this kind of pace, the 'Dores could be headed back to a bowl game.
