Murray, not Plancher, leads the USF rushing attack

South Florida's offense piled up 59 points against FCS opponent Stony Brook on Saturday. The Bulls got solid rushing performances from Demetris Murray (nine carries, 57 yards) and Marcus Shaw (five carries, 76 yards, 1 TD), while Evan Landi (five receptions for 91 yards) and Dontavia Bogan (three receptions for 86 yards and a score) turned in the best performances of the wide receivers.

The big news here is that Murray, number two on the depth chart, outperformed incumbent number one Moise Plancher. A few more games like this might convince Skip Holtz to hand Murrary the starting job, making him a waiver wire prospect in Big East-only leagues.

Shaw's numbers, while also good, came during the fourth quarter of a blowout.
