With Wisconsin quarterback Curt Phillips out this spring recovering from ACL surgery, Jon Budmayr and freshman Joseph Brennan are the only scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. Budmayr appears to have the edge on the starting job according to head coach Bret Bielema. "Jon is just so much more advanced right now. This is his third spring. That’s a huge benefit to come in at the time he did. The rewards are right now", says Bielema.
Budmayr appears the favorite for the starting job, and you have to believe that the coaching staff will just have him turn around and hand off to James White and Montee Ball.
