During interview with UConn offensive coordinator George DeLeone, he said that this spring is a chance for D.J. Shoemate to show whether or not he can be the workhorse back the Huskies are so accustomed to. "They say when the phone is ringing, you've got to answer it. Well, the phone is ringing off the hook right now for those two guys (Shoemate and Martin Hyppolite), I promise you."
If Shoemate can hold on to the ball, he could be in for a big season but he will have to prove himself before some talented freshmen join the fray.
