After head coach Larry Porter announced he was switching from a pro-style to a spread offense, quarterback Ryan Williams asked for a release from his scholarship. Porter says "Ryan Williams is no longer part of our program."
Williams was by far the best quarterback on their roster so this drastically affects the Tigers. Cannon Smith will stay at safety which leaves sophomore Andy Summerlin, who is coming of shoulder surgery last spring, and Will Gilchrist, both of whom have not played in a collegiate game.
