Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Todd Monken said that Clint Chelf is currently ahead of Johnny Deaton in the race to backup starter Brandon Weeden, and this is based primarily on Chelf's experience.
There aren't too many backup quarterbacks jobs that are more interesting than the one in Stillwater. It sounds like Deaton has a problem of throwing it to the wrong guys, and Clint has a problem with "processing," which I guess means he hasn't picked up all nuances of this fancy little offense.
