Heading into head coach Dan McCarney's first year at North Texas, he will be gaining another playmaker in wide receiver Mike Outlaw who is coming off redshirting last year. Outlaw made an immediate impact in his first year from junior college as he collected 41 receptions for 472 yards and two scores. McCarney says of Outlaw: "He has got good ball skills and speed. I like his toughness."
Outlaw could very well be the team's top receiving threat which may not mean much unless there is some health and production at quarterback. However, Outlaw does have gamebreaking speed and could be a nice deep option when the mean green need to make more room for Lance Dunbar.
