Memphis tailback Jerrell Rhodes established himself as a freshman backing up Gregory Ray and now that Ray has graduated, Rhodes is the unquestioned leader in the Tiger backfield. Head coach Larry Porter says that "He is instinctive and he has vision" and Rhodes is using that vision to eye his goal of rushing for 1,500 yards this season.
Even with the Tigers switching to a spread attack, Rhodes could very well hit that mark against some soft Conference USA defenses.
