Iowa quarterback James Vandenberg is in a battle to be the guy to replace Ricky Stanzi at quarterback and although he may not have the job yet, he certainly has the support and trust of his fellow teammates. Tight end Brad Herman says "I'm just glad Vandenberg's our guy... I'm confident in his ability to perform at a high level."
Vandenberg will only be asked to hand off to Marcus Coker and throw the occasional deep bomb to Marvin McNutt, as is the nature of the Iowa offense. However, Vandenberg should be the kind of guy that doesn't make mistakes and allows his team to win.
