When Jordan Todman left for the NFL, UConn tailback D.J. Shoemate saw it as an opportunity to prove himself. That opportunity was knocking even louder when Randy Edsall left and there was a new coaching staff. This spring, Shoemate has been trying to prove to head coach Paul Pasqualoni that he can be the go-to guy for the Huskies' offense. When asked if he can be the workhorse, Shoemate confidently answered "I know I can."
Shoemate is an interesting prospect who could have some decent RB3 value as long as he comes out of the spring with the job outright.
