Vanderbilt running back Wesley Tate is finally healthy and is looking to carve his niche in the Commodores' backfield.  Tate is much bigger than fellow backs Zac Stacy and Warren Norman but still possesses good speed.  "I definitely think I can be an every-down running back, a complete running back.  I can split out wide and catch the ball, but I can also get the tough yards when it’s third-and-1 or third-and-2 and also make the explosive plays down the field," says Tate.

Under new head coach James Franklin, the Dores will operate under center more often which should lead to some more downhill running for Tate.  The top back will still most likely be Norman but with Stacy as a speed option, Tate could gain a foothold as a more powerful option.
