After being held scoreless in the first quarter, the Nebraska offense started to hum in the second, racking up 713 yards on 129 plays on the day. Running back Rex Burkhead stood out from the pack. In a game that seemed to be more focused on getting as many people on the field as possible, Burkhead rushed for 91 yards on 11 carries.
Brion Carnes led all passers with 173 yards and two scores, while Taylor Martinez was just 4-of-13 for 52 yards and a score. I wouldn't put too much stock in the results. Coach Bo Pelini said they would keep thing pretty vanilla before the game.
