Tulsa World's John E. Hoover reports that Oklahoma sophomore quarterback Drew Allen is surging forward in the race to serve as Landry Jones' backup. He shared spring game snaps with redshirt freshman Blake Bell.
Both Allen and Bell are clearly talented quarterbacks who could each step in and hold the fort should Landry Jones miss time. And as the Sooner quarterbacks have missed time in recent years, the young fella deemed #2 presents a great deal of potential to post huge numbers if afforded extended playing time.
