Despite stellar play by Barry Brunetti in the Ole Miss spring game, head coach Houston Nutt says that "Right now, Mackey is probably ahead..." Randall Mackey has been engaged in a heated three way battle with Brunetti and Zack Stoudt for the starting job and has held his own. Stoudt is more of a passer while Brunetti is the most physically gifted of the bunch.
Mackey has the mobility of Jeremiah Masoli but is a much better passer. Look for Mackey to win the job.
