North Carolina head coach Butch Davis said recently that he is looking for more than one running back to shoulder the load for the Tar Heels. "You have to have a stable of running backs. I don’t know that I even want to have one guy you say this guy is going to take 95 percent of the reps. I think it’s a detriment to the kid" said Davis. He went on to say "There’s plenty enough work to get two good quality players a lot and maybe a third."
With Ryan Houston on the mend, the only other viable options are Hunter Furr and redshirt freshman Giovanni Bernard.
