Jesse Newell of KUSports.com had an interesting write up on how Kansas sorely needs a breakaway threat in the backfield. James Sims, who is expected to be the go-to guy next season, only managed a 28-yard scamper as his longest run of last season. The longest run for the team was 51 yards by receiver Daymond Patterson.
The Jayhawks will need either Darrian Miller, Rell Lewis, Brandon Bourbon, or an incoming freshman to step up and be that homerun threat. Miller seems like the most likely candidate as he has consistently shined this offseason.
