Ever since 2009, the Oregon coaching staff has wanted to implement a hybrid TAZR position (which stands for TAilback, Z-receiver, and R-receiver) but has been unable to because of depth issues and injuries. This spring the Ducks are trying to revitalize the role with Daryle Hawkins practicing there. The role could fit Kenjon Barner or Lache Seastrunk as well as Josh Huff.
Huff seems like the best candidate for the TAZR position but in order for it to work, he will need to recover from a knee injury and there will need to be more development of depth at running back.
