North Texas wide receiver Darius Carey has been dismissed from the team for, according to head coach Dan McCarney, not meeting the standards and expectations that have been set for the program. Carey was the Mean Green's leading receiver last season with 38 catches for 524 yards and five scores.
North Texas has a stud in Lance Dunbar but will need playmakers to emerge in the passing game if they don't want teams stacking the box. The loss of Carey opens up the door for Oklahoma transfer Tyler Stradford.
