Now that Mike Hartline has graduated and Ryan Mossakowski has transferred, Morgan Newton is firmly entrenched as the starting quarterback for Kentucky. Newton has started games before and done well but this offseason he is working on establishing himself as a leader. One example of his leadership is helping newcomers along. "We have some new guys we’re incorporating. We are trying to teach them but it isn’t like camp. When camp comes around it’ll be brutal, but I’m just trying to speed the process along with some of the young guys" says Newton.
Newton is a good passer and is more of an athletic option for the Wildcats. If head coach Joker Phillips can surround Newton with some playmakers, he should be able to put up points.
