ECU's crowded backfield vying for carries

East Carolina doesn't run the ball much, but there are still plenty of players vying for carries in the Pirates' wide open offense.  Michael Dobson was the team's leading rusher during the spring game.  This off-season the staff signed junior college transfer Reggie Bullock, who is expected to come in and contribute right away.  In an effort to bolster depth and get some speed in the backfield, wide receiver Torrance Hunt was switched to tailback and thrived.  Rounding out the list is four-star recruit Chevelle Buie.

Whoever wins the starting job could enjoy much statistical success. Not only will the running lanes be wide open as teams respect the arm of Dominique Davis, but there will also be several passes thrown to the running backs.
