San Diego State's defense took a bit of hit with the revelation that DT Neil Spencer has been ruled academically ineligible. He had overcome previous academic issues and the death of his father to earn considerable playing time, including three starts, in 2010.
Spencer will miss his senior season and put a dent in the defensive tackle rotation this coming season.
