Wyoming's defensive front may be dealt a blow with coach Dave Christensen's revelation that sophomore starting DT Patrick Mertens may be lost for the season due to injury.
Christensen doesn't elaborate on injuries, but losing Mertens would be a big loss. As a true freshman, he played in all 12 games and looked to be ready to blossom into a force after recording 39 tackle and two sacks.
