California running back Isi Sofele sits atop the depth chart right now, but what's possible behind him. Cal coach Jeff Tedford made no secret of his disappointment in the rest of the running back crew this spring and is anxious to see his backs stay healthy and, perhaps, mount a challenge to Sofele this fall.
Among the group that is coming off injury are Covaughn DeBoskie-Johnson, Dasarte Yarnway and Trajuan Briggs. Tedford also said that incoming freshmen Brendon Bigelow, Daniel Lasco and JC transfer C.J. Anderson will get a look this fall.
