West Virginia third string quarterback Brian Athey is no longer a member of the team as he's decided to transfer to an FCS-level school. Paul Millard, who like Athey was an early enrollee, won the backup job and that was apparently a signal to Athey that there wouldn't be much playing time for him in the future.
Unless Geno Smith and Paul Millard both go down for extended periods of time, this shouldn't hurt the Mountaineers much if at all.
