QB Ash could see time at punter

Texas' co-offensive coordinator Major Applewhite said quarterback David Ash could handle a small share of the punting duties this season, to "add some flavor." Senior Justin Tucker will still be the team's top leg.

Ash averaged 43 yards a punt his senior year of high school and earned AP first team all-state honors as a punter. Who knows? Maybe Ash will become the full-time punter once Tucker leaves the team. This could also mean Ash isn't a legitimate candidate to start at quarterback this year.
