Despite having once again fielding one of the best offenses in the Big East, the first season of the Butch Jones era at Cincinnati didn't go as expected. Why? A defense that couldn't force turnovers or stop anyone, resulting in a 4-8 record in 2010. The Bearcats begin fall practice today, and the hope is that the 11 returning starters led by LB J.K. Schaffer can turn things around.
From a fantasy standpoint the sacks and turnovers forced are key areas to keep an eye on. Cincinnati was dead last in the Big East in both turnovers forced and turnover margin in 2010, and if they can improve in those areas they should be able to go bowling. But this is a "wait and see" prospect, especially when also factoring in their competition for a new kicker.
