It looks like ASU coach Dennis Erickson isn't done dealing with what star linebacker Vontage Burfict brings to the table emotionally. A report in the Arizona Republic confirmed that the volatile linebacker threw a punch at a teammate after practice last week. According to the Republic, Burfict waited for teammate Kevin Ozier in the ASU lockerroom after the two had words at practice. Both exchanged punches before the fight was broken up.
Burfict has not missed any practice time, so it's likely the punishment is being handled quietly in-house. Still, it's a good reminder of how off-the-handle Burfict can be. He's supremely talented, but also capable of losing his cool at very bad moments. It looks like Erickson will continue to have to babysit his star defensive player.
