California coach Jeff Tedford said that kicker Giorgio Tavecchio is the team's top kicker right now. Tavecchio and Vince D'Amato had been getting equal reps, but Tedford confirmed today that Tavecchio was the No. 1 guy.
It should be noted that Tedford said the job was Tavecchio's "right now." It seems like D'Amato did enough to make Tedford offer some doubt. For now, though Tavecchio is the kicker for an offense that, if it gets solid quarterback play, should score some points.
