California coach Jeff Tedford confirmed that running back Trajuan Briggs was not in the camp and wouldn't rejoin the team until camp was over. Tedford gave no specifics as to why Briggs wasn't in camp with the team.
Interesting that Briggs is still on the team, according to Tedford, but not practicing -- and that he would rejoin the team after camp concluded. Given that, there's one less body battling for running back reps.
