The Fresno Bee is reporting that Jalen Saunders, the leading returning wide receiver for Fresno State, dislocated his thumb during practice and might need to wear a splint up until September 3. They also report: "the entire group of Bulldogs receivers is banged up, with five hurt in all: Isaiah Burse (hamstring), A.J. Johnson (ankle), Victor Dean (foot) and Gerome Surrell (hamstring)."
This isn't the greatest of news for the work in progress Fresno State passing game. There is excitement around quarterback Derek Carr this season, but an inexperienced offensive line along with a slate of injured wide receivers isn't exactly what a first time starting QB needs.
