Virginia Tech had a "mini scrimmage" today, which didn't include any starters on either side of the ball. While it was only 30 plays, the Hokies' leading rusher was fullback Martin Scales, who went for all of 12 yards on six carries.
This is music to David Wilson owners' ears...I think. On one hand, this lack of depth gives Wilson 20 touchdown upside. On the other hand - who carries the ball in the 4th quarter of a blowout, or if anything should happen to Wilson? Assuming the Hokies have a backup running back, I promise you he will have value. But to this point, we have no update on Tony Gregory's (knee) health, or Michael Holmes' eligibility.
