Pittsburgh backup quarterback Anthony Gonzalez spoke publicly for the first time since his May 20th arrest on marijuana possession at the team's media day, saying that he's learned from his mistake. Gonzalez, who will sit out the first two games of the season due to the arrest, could still compete for the spot behind starter Tino Sunseri but being out for two games doesn't help his prospects.
Provided that Sunseri remains healthy the backup quarterback job may not be a race to worry about for Pitt fans, but you're always one play away from having to take the field. Gonzalez is talented enough to make plays, so he could be a player to watch more in terms of 2012 than 2011.
